Job Description:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations at our canned beverage manufacturing facility. This role requires a highly organized individual with excellent leadership skills and a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical systems. The Maintenance Manager will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and minimize production disruptions.
    • Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and installations.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with production equipment.
    • Develop effective solutions to address problems in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary supplies to support maintenance activities.
    • Coordinate with procurement and vendors to procure parts and materials as needed.
  • Safety Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance staff.
    • Support the enhancement and implementation of robust safety programs.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and streamline maintenance processes.
    • Implement best practices and innovative technologies to optimize maintenance efficiency.
  • All other duties as assigned

Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
    Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Expected to work flexible hours and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Quality Control Technician – 2nd Shift

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our canned beverage products during the shift. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, implementing quality control measures, and collaborating with the production team to maintain the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing
    • Conduct visual inspections and testing of canned beverage products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Utilize testing equipment and tools to measure key product attributes.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of quality control activities, test results, and inspections.
    • Report any deviations from quality standards and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Communication
    • Collaborate with the production team to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding quality control findings.
  • Sampling and Analysis
    • Collect samples from production batches for further analysis.
    • Perform sensory evaluations to assess taste, aroma, and overall product quality.
    • Perform objective scientific evaluations using lab testing equipment.
  • Calibration
    • Calibrate and maintain quality control equipment to ensure accuracy.
    • Identify and report any equipment calibration needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Prior quality control experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience, food & beverage experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures and testing methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Custodian – PT

Location: Greater Grand Rapids, MI

Position Overview:

As a Custodian at Proper Beverage, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment to support the health and safety of our team and operations. You will ensure that all cleaning tasks are performed efficiently and effectively, contributing to a high standard of facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Duties
    • Clean all bathrooms in the facility.
    • Clean linoleum, tile, and other floors.
    • Vacuum all carpet and rugs.
    • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.
    • Dust all surfaces.
    • Wash windows and windowsills.
    • Wax floors as needed.
  • Inventory & Supplies
    • Refill paper towels, toilet paper, and hand towels as required.
    • Order new cleaning supplies when needed.
    • Maintain a thorough inventory of materials.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform all tasks with minimal supervision and in compliance with safety standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of custodial work, preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and tools.
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
